HACKATHON OVERVIEW
Developing creative solutions tolooming threats on the horizon
The COVID-19 pandemic, the evolving realm of artificial intelligence, the looming threat of climate change – recent years have demonstrated the volatility and unpredictability of the world we live in today. New digital technologies alongside shifts in the socio-geopolitical climate demand immediate and consistent innovation to target problems that arise every day. While globalisation has resulted in a greater integration of Singapore with the rest of the globe, this interconnectivity has also resulted in a more fragmented world. Inequalities and insecurities are heightened with the rise of new opportunities brought about by technology and evolving demands. The transient nature of constancy begs us to explore new ways to tackle issues that lie ahead. This year, the tagline of Pei Hwa Hackathon 2024 emphasises the need to be proactive in developing creative solutions to looming threats on the horizon. How can we empower ourselves to invent more efficient and sustainable practices that will better prepare us for future challenges? Participants will get to ideate and construct vibrant strategies when engaging with their problem statement. This modern age has taught us that we can no longer be complacent and rely on the status quo. It is with necessity that we have adapt to ensure that our future generations are well equipped with a diverse set of skills to handle any situation.
